Greening Society

This craze of considering the cycles that our products go through have seemed to have gone mainstream in just the last couple of years. Considering the impact that products have on us is a responsible act, and trying to create items that will integrate into the worlds natural cycling process will create new opportunities for new products. However when this much hype is built up around a product or idea and we see everyone from celebrities to politicians making these choices we sometimes find ourselves over-saturated and disinterested in the core idea behind it ,and move on to some other interest and never take advantage of the full potential that could arise from that idea. What will happen, will this new ideology stick or will it go out of vogue?

  1. Well, I hope this new ideology sticks. But I do agree with your statement about the "green" movement and how it has become such a fad. But, I will say that, given that is has become such a fad, is that really such a bad thing? I mean, in essence, the flavor of the week, in regards to being green, is being conscious of the effect we have on our planet. So, to me, I would rather have this as a fad than other fads that seem to happen weekly, if not daily. So I hope that it has enough of an impact to change the way we approach consumerism and the way we purchase goods.

  2. The point is that fads go out of style, in some ways its good that its popular, but I also think with its rise in popularity that it will alienate some people and repel them from "green" living.
