Seems like a fairly basic concept, buildings age and deteriorate overtime, so what and how can we as future architects do about this? Should we consider the buildings we design to last for the next century or more, or do we consider that as we build something the end is already in sight?
I think that we should realize the end is indeed in sight. We as architects die off so, why shouldn't our buildings. One can only renovate a building so many times before its end. How long the building lasts is another thing though. If the building is usable, then I believe it should be used. It can be polished a little, but no building will last forever.
